Hello, it's nice to meet you!
I‘m Mayu, an illustrator based in London and Shanghai.
I worked as a kindergarten teacher for 7 years before coming to the UK to study illustration, pursuing my passion for drawing. My illustrations are vibrant and colourful, reflecting my observations of society and my deep concern for natural ecology. At the same time, I also worked part-time as a doll make-up artist for 7 years and as a photographer for more than 10 years. These artistic interests and experiences have enriched the diversity of both the content and forms of my work. I enjoy challenging myself, breaking conventions, and expressing creativity freely.
Currently, I am creating illustrations while serving as the founder of the Chinese traditional culture brand "Luminous" in London, dedicated to promoting intangible cultural heritage techniques such as Ronghua (velvet flowers) and paper cutting.
